Holiday DIY Gift: Facial Steam Flowers

Series 1 for Holiday DIY Gift Ideas are Facial Steam Flowers

Whether your recipient is familiar to skincare or not…this is a great gift to give anyone. Facial steams are skincare, aromatherapy and relaxation all in one cute little bundle.

Depending on the ingredients, you can do let focus on skin, relaxation, health or all of the above!

  • Coffee filters (I recommend the largest size)
  • Wrapping paper
  • String
  • Dried herbs, essential oils (you can use fresh herbs if using it immediately. But best to use dried since it sits better)

My two favorite combos right now are

  1. Rose, Lavender and Geranium: great for anti-aging
  2. Chrysanthemum, Honeysuckle and Frankincense: great for trouble skin

First fold the coffee filter three times and cut to desire “petal” shape.

Unfold the coffee filter and fill the center with the desired dried herbs. Pack as much as you can without over spilling. This is why I recommend using extra large coffee filters!

Tied the base of the “petals” together with the strong forming a cute little flower bundle.

Drop 4 drops of essential oil (if you want) to the center of the flower. That way the oil won’t break down the herbs.

Cut the wrapping paper slightly bigger than the coffee filter forming the similar “petal” shapes. Wrap around the flower bundle creating the outer petals of the flower. Tie with tightly with string.

Remember to attach a little card telling stating what is inside each flower bundle. AND remind them to remove the wrapping paper to use.

How to use these adorable Facial Steam Flowers?

Remove the outer wrapping. Put the flower in a heat safe medium size bowl. Prepare a large towel nearby. Carefully pour hot water into the bowl. Put the large towel over your head to trap the steam. Carefully without burning yourself, place your face above the bowl to catch the steam coming out from it. Allow the Facial Steam for 10 to 15 minutes. And that’s it!

You can even save the water afterwards up to a week as a facial spray or toner!
